DAY 1 - Arrive to Addis Ababa

welcoming from our tour guide & driver at the airport and city tour in Addis Ababa with a visit to the Ethnographic and National Museums, the Trinity Church and the largest open market in Africa, Merkato. Overnight in Addis Ababa (hotel)

DAY 2 - Fly to Bahir Dar

Visit the local market and take a boat trip on the Lake Tana to visit the monasteries of the Zege Peninsula. In the afternoon, drive to the Blue Nile Falls for a hike in the surroundings. Overnight in Bahir Dar (hotel)

DAY 3 - Gondar

Gondar and visit the UNESCO Royal Enclosure, a group of castles from the 17th century. In the afternoon, visit the DebreBirhan Selassie church and the Fasilide’s pool area. Overnight in Gondar (hotel)

DAY 4 - Simien Mountains National Park

Drive to the Simien Mountains National Park for trekking. Overnight inside the park (lodge or camping)

DAY 5 - Trekking day at the Simien Mountains National Park

Trekking day at the Simien Mountains National Park from Sankabar to Geech via the Jinbar waterfall. You will be picked up near the waterfall back to Gondar for overnight (hotel)

DAY 6 - fly to Axum

In the morning, fly to Axum and start the city with visits to the Archeological Museum, the tombs, the stelae field and the Maryam Zion church. Overnight in Axum (hotel)

DAY 7 - Fly to Lalibela

Fly to Lalibela and visit the stunning rock-hewn churches, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the Eight Wonders of the World. Overnight in Lalibela (lodge or hotel)

DAY 8 - Drive or trek to asheten monastry

Drive or trek to asheten monastry if you choose to trek it's a 1:30 hour from lalibela with a drive its 25 minuet & a ten minute trek the monastery is situated at 3150m. The church treasures parchment old books, icons and crosses. It is believed that it is the first work of King Lalibela, Standing there you have panoramic views of mountains in all directions Asheten Maryam is carved out of into a cliff face.


Then drive or trek back to lalibela, after lunch, continue to visit the Southeastern Cluster of Lalibela churches – Bet Gabriel-Rufael, Bet Merkorios, Bet Lehem (Bethlehem Hebrew: בֵּית לֶחֶם House of Holy Bread) Bet Amanual, and Bet Abba Libanos. Finally, visit the most famous of all the churches – Bet Giyorgis, a huge monolithic in the shape of a cross, and constructed in honor of St. George, the patron saint of Ethiopia

DAY 9 - Fly to Addis Ababa

In the afternoon visit Merkato, the largest open market in Africa with free time for optional souvenir shopping or sightseeing. Overnight in Addis Ababa (hotel)

DAY 10 - Drive to Arba Minch via Hosena

You will be able to see different historical places on the way such as MelkaKunture, a stone-age archeological site; Adadi Mariam, a 12th century rock-hewn church and Tiya, a stelae from the 12th century considered as a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Overnight in Arba Minch (lodge or hotel)

DAY 11 - Visit the Nechisar National Park and take boat trip

Visit the Nechisar National Park and take boat trip on the Lake Chamo to see crocodiles, hippopotami and abundant bird species. Proceed to Jinka and visit some ethnic tribes such as Gamo and Derashe. Overnight in Jinka (lodge, hotel or camping)

DAY 12 - Drive to the Mago National Park

Drive to the Mago National Park to visit the Mursi ethnic tribe, known for the clay plates used by the women on their lower lip. In the afternoon, visit the South Omo Museum and Research Center or take a hike to visit the Ari village in the surrounding mountains. Overnight in Jinka (lodge, hotel or camping)

DAY 13 - Drive to the villages of Turmi

Drive to the villages of Turmi to visit the tribe of Hamer, where you may witness the “bull-jumping” tradition that young men try to accomplish in order to get married. Visit the Benna and Ari people on the way to Turmi. Overnight in Turmi (lodge, hotel or camping)

DAY 14 - Drive to Murele and visit the Karo people

Drive to Murele and visit the Karo people, famous for their meticulous body-painting tradition. Drive back to Turmi for overnight (lodge, hotel or camping)

DAY 15 - Drive to Konso and visit the wakas

Drive to Konso and visit the wakas, wooden statures erected in honor of the dead heroes and the 55 km stonewalled terraces and fortified settlements declared as World Heritage Site by the UNESCO and also known as the natural “New York village”. Overnight in Konso (lodge, hotel or camping)

DAY 16 - Drive to Awassa and visit the Dorze

Drive to Awassa and visit the Dorze Village on the way, known for the beehive-shaped bamboo houses and the fine cotton weaved by their people. Overnight in Awassa (hotel)

DAY 17 - visit the fish market of Awassa

In the morning, visit the fish market of Awassa and drive back to Addis Ababa via the Rift Valley Lakes with some free time for souvenir shopping or sightseeing. In the evening, farewell dinner at a traditional restaurant with local dancers and musicians representing some of the country’s ethnic groups. Transfer to airport for departure. End of the tour.
